Covered in Punk

Heidi passed along a promo copy of Portobello – Covered in punk, a few weeks ago in the belief that it was my type of tune. Although it took a few listens it is a wicked punky poppy number, vaguely along the same lines as Addicted to Bass. Radio 1 have just started using it on a trail, so hopefully it will be big. Have a listen out for it.
i saw Portobella last night at the camden barfly, and they absolutely rocked. I have no doubt they will be big !
saw them at barfly too, absolutely rocked. the lead singer has got real attitude. i hope they do well as their material was a breath of fresh air up against all this r&b thats flooded the market at the mo. hope to see alot more of them.
i love this track so much,caught the dance mix on pete tongs buzz chart, i’m sure this will be the summer anthem for 2004. it is for me anyway. has got a real fab video too. i think the singles out june 14th. excellent!!!!!!!
seems like we were all at barfly the other nite… really like this band… first time i seen ‘em and was well impressed…. hope they go all the way… they deserve it!

tried to go along to bristol academy on friday night to catch portobella after following ‘breaking point’ on mtv, which they feature in.Only to discover that they werent there at all!!!!!!(thanks Gavin).Turns out they were at the Louisiana,after a mad dash ,managed to getthere just as she was walking on. They were worth the all the fuss. great live ,great guitars, great atmosphere and most of all great voice. she really did know how to work the crowd. going to buy covered in punk today……..
the lead singer is fab!n shes gat an amazing voice and is the coolist person ever! they will be huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
